This morning Beau and Brandy from Sailing Saoirse came over and we set off on a day sail adventure back to Fowl Cay, which is only 6nm from Marsh Harbor. It turned out to be a PERFECT day sail.
With only 8-10kts of wind from behind, we set the the spinnaker before we even left the anchorage and were on a run the entire way. It was quite comfortable and calm out in the Sea of Abaco. While Kika was at the helm, I jumped in Coco to get some sweet shots of Uma Saling along.
When we got to Fowl Cay we set anchor in 4M of water, tossed all our free diving and camera gear in the dink and set off to explore the nature park surrounding the cay.
The reef structure was amazing but not much for fish life. Nothing to complain about, we saw rays, giant barracudas, snappers and many other little reef fish and had a great time diving around in pretty clear water.
It was a perfect sail back to Marsh Harbor 8-10kts winds just off the bow. We tacked slowly into the anchorage just as the sun was setting.
What great day. Great sail. Possibly our last one of 2018. Great way to end the year.
